Element 1.12.15 is a Matrix-native secure collaboration and messaging client that delivers end-to-end encrypted chat, voice and video for teams and communities who refuse to trade convenience for privacy. Built on the open Matrix protocol, the application lets organizations self-host on their own infrastructure for complete data sovereignty or delegate hosting to Element Matrix Services while still retaining full control over encryption keys and user identity. Because every conversation is protected by default Olm/ Megolm encryption, the software is widely deployed by governments, open-source projects, healthcare providers and academic institutions that must meet strict data-residency and compliance mandates. Rooms can be federated across thousands of independent servers, so a researcher on one university’s Element instance can seamlessly collaborate with a colleague on another without creating yet another account, and IT departments can bridge existing Slack, Microsoft Teams or IRC workflows into the same encrypted environment. The program is catalogued under Secure Messaging & Collaboration Software; its 149 released versions since 2016 show a rapid cadence that has added threaded discussions, widget dashboards, cross-signed device verification and Spaces for hierarchical room management. Element 1.12.15 refines space navigation, improves Jitsi conference integration and hardens the cryptography stack, continuing a lineage that began as a simple React-based chat client and evolved into the reference implementation for the entire Matrix ecosystem. The software is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads provided via trusted Windows package sources (e.g. winget), always delivering the latest version, and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
